Let Go, Let Grow {Aparigraha}

Our theme this month is Let Go, Let Grow—a gentle invitation to release what we no longer need, and to trust in the spaciousness that follows.

This month, we explore the yogic principle of Aparigraha, a practice of non-grasping, paired with the lightness of breath and the openness of possibility.

The Wisdom of Aparigraha

Aparigraha is one of the Yamas, the ethical foundations of yoga, guiding us toward a life of presence, simplicity, and trust.

Often translated as non-attachment or non-possessiveness, Aparigraha invites us to reflect on what we are holding—physically, emotionally, and energetically.

Because the more we hold onto, the more we must carry.
And sometimes, without realizing it, we become weighed down by the very things we thought we needed.

This practice gently asks:

What am I holding onto that is no longer supporting my growth?
Where might I soften my grip and allow life to flow more freely?

Letting go is not about loss—it is about creating space.
Space to breathe. Space to receive. Space to become.

Practices for Letting Go

Throughout this month, we will explore simple ways to practice Aparigraha in daily life:

Create space in your environment – Choose one small area to clear, letting go of what no longer feels aligned

Notice your inner dialogue – When old stories arise, gently question if they are still true or still needed

Soften your expectations – Allow moments, people, and experiences to unfold without needing to control the outcome

Practice mindful breathing – With each exhale, imagine releasing tension, pressure, or anything you’ve been carrying

Move with awareness – On your mat, notice where you are gripping or striving, and invite in softness instead

Each small release becomes an act of trust, an opening toward something new.

The Beauty of What Remains

When we let go of what is not meant to stay, we make space for what is.

And often, what remains is more aligned, more easeful, more true.

We begin to see that we were never meant to hold onto everything- only to experience, to learn, and to grow.

May this month invite you to soften your grip, trust the unfolding, and remember that in letting go, you are not losing- you are making space for something beautiful to grow.

We look forward to sharing practices, classes, and gatherings with you as we explore Let Go, Let Grow together.
