Alissa Morris-Alexander

Yoga Instructor

If you had asked Alissa to attend a yoga class ten years ago, she would have politely declined. The Universe, however, had other plans in mind. In the summer of 2016, she thought that yoga might just help in her Tae Kwon Do training, getting into and keeping her in tip-top shape and condition. The practice of yoga greatly improved her kicks, stances, and forms, eventually assisting in earning her the lifelong dream of achieving a 1st Degree Black Belt at the age of 45.

The Universe revealed even greater possibilities when she graduated from the Yoga Teacher Training Program at Nourishing Storm in the Spring of 2017. Alissa then discovered her “niche” which was sharing yoga with those she felt needed it most, both children/teens and the 55+ communities. Alissa took her training even further by becoming a certified Kidding Around Yoga, ChairOne Fitness, and SilverSneakers instructor. She is also in the process of obtaining certifications in Yoga for Parkinson’s, Adaptive/Accessible Yoga, and Barre. Alissa shares her love of yoga as not only a series of asanas, but of community, diversity, accessibility, inclusion, and continued growth.
