Laura Womack

Yoga Instructor

Laura came to the asanas through an exploration of mindfulness. She grew up the daughter of a scholar in comparative religion, which made her curious about different perspectives when she later moved to Southeast Asia. There she became interested in meditation. Laura attended silent meditation retreats in Thailand where she lived the soothing calm of letting go of thoughts that don’t serve. Bringing that calm into an active life led Laura to yoga. Laura practices asanas as support for meditation. She focuses on proper alignment in her poses for longterm health and mental satisfaction. Her intention is staying mindfullly on the mat. For Laura, her yoga practice is the foundation of a meaningful and beautiful life: appreciating her family and friends, being there for her cats, and learning more about birds. Her meditation practice includes weaving and being on the water.
